FFX2 Short Review and Thoughts...
Whee, currently I'm playing Final Fantasy X-2, and I just have to say (for all those people still wondering whether to buy) GET IT! If you're a final fantasy fan.

The game has the awesome cinematics of FF, along with graphics that are even more fluid than FFX.

Music is very nice, the battle music actually sounds battle-like now. (FFX battle music sounded... erm.. bleh) and the whole thing seems more "modern" (faster tempo music, oh some japanese pop music here this time) The sound effects are nice as always.

The new active battle system is slightly harder to play, but it's helluva fun. It takes more attention and is far more chaotic than FFX. The best thing about the system in this game is that it mixes my 3 favorite RPG elements.

Non-linearity (it so happens 2 of my favorite games are Romancing Saga 3 and Saga Frontier 2), you can select what "missions" you want to undertake, some of them don't move the story along, some do.

Fast-paced but thinking battle system, pretty fun, the battles are fast but you have to keep thinking. Is a bit harder than FFX but still isn't a difficulty for a FF veteran (especially if you survived FFVIII).

Job system! Yay, it's back and it's evolved into a monster! Not only can you change jobs and master multiple abilities for each you can do it right IN BATTLE.  Very fun, and there're like 20 different jobs to use. (called "dresses" in the game, but they're still jobs)

Oh and to top it all off, the game has three sexy female protagonists, WINNER! ;7

Oh and just felt like adding, the game won't be too easy to slip into if you haven't played FFX, but then again it wasn't meant to be played standalone....

Sexy as in "actual human beings" or as in "imaginary freakish anime women with two-inch waists, hair the color of a gay Apocalypse, and eyes that got left over from the set of the 50s B-movie 'Giant Evil Laser-Shooting Eyeballs from the Ninth Dimension'"?

bleh, majority opinion is that fantasy is better than reality ;) So the term applies.

Majority of... lonely adolescents who jerk over polygon porn?

Call me a traditionalist, but I prefer the women I leer at to be the kind you can do more than look at. And if they could successfully combat gravity without their spines snapping, all the better.

... humanity, excluding political geezers, stubborn old granpa, and most non-lesbian/bi women....

Or does that leave very little?

Traditionalist!....

of course flesh girls are better, but why not try to enjoy virtual women while you're at it?

What a world, what a world.

Well, more real women for me then, I guess. And seeing as the "majority" of the rest of you won't be passing on your genes, then, I guess we've got overpopulation, disease, and pollution problems fixed.

methinks i should start playing the older ff games.

I personally don't like the idea of ffx-2 in the first place. Square never put sequals in their past ff games. Why now?
I finally destoryed the Shivan armada and all I got was this lousy T shirt.

1). Yes you should.

2). I do, cause its new and innovative. Some FF games seem to have an open ending. Like FFX. Also FFVII-2 is in the making WEE!

Newbs usually have most trouble with VIII. And since VII was ridiculously easy, and since that's the game that many modern FF newbs play first VIII seems pretty hard.

And you aren't a newb so :p
