Horribly, horribly unoptimised - but for a first stab at Java graphics it's ok IMO.

You're right that it's unoptimised, but it's cool nonetheless. Very cool indeed :)
Might be useful for early physics classes and stuff when they're learning about orbits, the solar system, and stuff. Especially considering they can all press the supernova button at the end of the lesson ^_^
I like it!

Tried page, didn't work. Downloaded yer code, wouldn't compile (what version of sdk u using?). :nervous:


EDIT: Webpage now working - nice stuff man, altho it runs slow on my machine. :)

The asteroid code is horrific (generates multiple copies via transformations, very cheap and extremely messy hack to try and get extra marks)... I'm trying to get a faster version without it up for comparative purposes.  There's loads of problems to do with the float / int mutliplication and draw castings as well, and the synchronisation has been FUBARed since I converted it to applet.

 It seems the raw .java files sometimes need recompiled to work...tres bizarre.

Out of curiosity, are you running SDK 1.4.1? Its just me and a few people from uni use it, and it never allows us to run GUI based applications at home. :wtf:

I think the SDK is V1.2 still.  Got a feeling the browser plugins are 1.4, though.

That'd be orrery...

But it's a cool program. :yes: I could nitpick that Neptune's and Pluto's orbits don't cross, but I won't. :p
