Well, after finally learning how to UV map (though not a superb texturer. If anyone can do a better job at this than me, you're welcome but the penalty is having more ships thrown in your direction!)

Feel free to play with her at your leisure, BUT DON'T USE IT IN A CAMPAIGN!!! Sorry, she's for The Swarm War and I'm wanting some people to play with her for a bit.

You still need to lost that capship tile and give it some proper fighter textures...

That's a lot better than the previous texture job.

However, the wings look way too thin.

GE - teach me how to do what you would class as decent fighter textures and I will.

It's odd with that 403.......I don't get it. I'll have a look.........

EDIT: Okay, Geocicrap doesn't like me either........

Fighter textures, as in, unique textures associated only with that fighter. You only need to look at the Volition fighter textures to see what I mean.

I know what you mean GE. And I don't like the V style of doing things. They have a whole multitude of colours on them.

Then have a look at a standard un-camouflaged F-16 fighter. It's GREY. Grey with some writing on it. This isn't a fashion parade, it's a functional military ship. They're manufactured quickly and are only given a quick lick of paint and a shakedown before going into service.

I think that looks fantastic. The wings look a little strange being so finely pointed like that - stuff is rarely constructed like that, check out the wingtips on the F-22 for a good example. Still excellent though, the texturing is very professional.

I'm glad you like the texturing. It was the first time I've ever UV Mapped.

Seems to be a trouble with Boomspeed in general. Sorry, guys......don't have anywhere else to put it........yet........

And in answer to Petrarch - you can have TOO MUCH COLOUR which is what the FS fighters have. The X-Wing games were grey because they used gauraud shading (sp?) and had to choose a base colour. X-Wing was released in 1993 when 3D cards were an unthinkable notion!

And the wings are finely crafted because the Karrans are EXPERT shipbuilders, and Gencore Fleet Systems Inc. is the best. This was their debut fighter, which exploded them onto the military market. There will be six ships from the Gencore works in the game:

GFSF-22 Harpy
GFSF-23 Phoenix
GFSF-24 Thundercat (built for the Taladir Empire - roughly equivalent to the Phoenix)
GFSF-25 Maelstrom
Senshi class Heavy Cruiser
Serenity class Battleship

Nice work, especially for a first go. I never figured out mapping (was meant to for high school for graphics, but my stupid program crashed whenever I made decent progress). My hat goes off to you for that effort.

Funny......I thought it looked like a fighter which was the result of TWO MONTHS WORK.
