More fun.... playing as GLA,...use the Special Trooper (donno his name...build limit 1) snipe a US Work truck and get it back to base,..start building needed buildings until you can get 4 bombers,... mean while use a team of 4 Angry Mobs to whip out most of the enemy base (those bastards can vape a building in seconds) ,... use Bombers to clear out minor annoyances,... then scud storm the rest

When I play the GLA. I SWARM! I Build countless numbers of terrorist bombers and suicide trucks, with high explosives and just make them run into the base. True, many get shot down. But when the terrorists have taken out most of the hard deffences and turrets, and the chemical trucks taken out the troops, the rust just plow into the base and destroy them like the infidels that they are!

I just finished a match i played China and my enemy was also china. Between the bases there is a city. I took 80% of the city builded a base in it and defences, captured oil wells and the hospital. Then all of the sudden a huge force attacked me, i mean realy huge around 10 aircraft 40 tanks and some artillery guns you can get by promotions. Pulled out to the city perimiter, then i got nuked not much damage but still. In total i got nuked and EMP 3 times i nuked them 4 times but there base was abit larger then i thought it was. Damn hard battle in that city but a good one!:D

I love the EMP and Nuke missile and the artillery guns i used to trash there base. My end stats are below prety intersting.

His computer must be horribly slower than mine

I run Generals and I run it decently well on my PIII 733, GeForce 2 rig.

I'm not much better PIII 800 on an ancient A OPen MBoard that I have to overclock for it to even see it's really an 800

But yea I think he's Video Card is like a 16 Meg (maybe 32Meg)

I use a AMD athlon 1.2Ghz and 512MB of SDRAM pc-133 and a Geforce2 MX100/200 32MB card. It runs fine in 800*600 resolution.

The Particle Beam Cannon in Generals is exactly the same as in Die Another Day. You just activate it and direct it to go where and it just cuts a path of destruction to the point where you specified. Only the colour of the beam is different.

Have you played generals? DAD's came directly from a satellite that used solor energy. Generals doesn't appear to come directly from a satelitte (watch the uplink base when you fire it). It maybe reflected, but there are plenty of differences as far as the Laser Satellite clique goes.

I meant in terms of the method of destroying stuff. It travels from the starting point to the point where the user tells it to go. Not the way it is activated and what power source it uses.

isn't it like in TS? you buy a link addon or something for the radar station, the thing is just there to allow you to control the satellite. if it's destroyed you lose contact with it.

Nope, it's a whole building. I always found it annoying in Tiberian sun where you needed to buy a addon to be able to use the cannon. What i did like was the walls you could make to slow enemy's down and the firestorm wall was also usefull for a while. I think they should have put that back in generals.
