No I never played that game. Actually I don't play on consoles. But OK, try to play JK2 on consoles on 1280*1024, all details rigged to high, volumetric shadows and all that without slowdowns. Or ok. That game is too advanced. Try Max Payne on consoles wit all high res options. Oh and I really appreciate your opinion about me.

PC  = Multi-purpose.  Depends on the machine itself on what it can do.

Console = Only does one thing.


I prefer to consolodate.

Hmmm... You have a RPG maker utility on the PS/PS2. You can program/create your very own 3d or 2d RPG's

This alone is enough for me; editing and modifying things is half the experience in any game.

They cannot be used to do math and that certainly qualifies as fun, so they are no good.

Math: Well, you'll need math if you want to program a decent RPG for the PS/PS2

As for which is better...

It is not just the res. Wit propper hardware tweaking, I am able to see people in Max Payne as though as they are 90% real. On consoles, their faces look like those twisted faces in The Ring.

I like both, and if I could, I'd get an Xbox.
This kind of debate is kindda old :/
It was ok back in the nineties, when you could find the same kind of games on consoles and on computers ( Gods, the Blues Brothers, Prehistoric versus Mario, Zelda, etc, or mortal kombat, OMF versus the capcom or SNK games. Or even, why not, a little Xenon2 vs Project X )
But now, what's the point? you have a handful of games that can be compared ( a few FPS, and even fewer RTS ). and that's all
what to compare? If I want to play, say, Dead or Alive, I'll be very happy with my ubber PC with its radeon 92 K alpha prime, that's for sure
But I sure hate playing that Turok2 game on my friends PS2, coz I can't do crap with a paddle ( having my ass whipped on a FPS, I feel kindda ****ty, give me back my keyboard ).
So yeah, I like both the same.

And PCs can be upgraded, whereas consoles have to be replaced more often.

you might notice that the upgrading cost for a PC is higher than buying a new console? Yes, you must have, you don't play console games, so you're more intelligent

I own a Dreamcast, I also own a GBA, I have in the past had a SNES, a megadrive (genesis) and a NES. I obviously also own a PC. All of these platforms have at some time or another brought me great joy.

I don't care about the machine. I care about the game.
If that makes me stupid then I guess I'll sit here in quiet, ignorant bliss and let the rest of you do your own thing.

I've never used it either, but I couldn't really seeing most snes games really being too taxing on the old modem, I think that it'd run pretty well.
