The Excalibur was sitting on my HD collecting dust...
So I set forth and fixed all of it's bad geometry, put slightly better textures (they still suck!), coverted and edited it and give it a little test drive:

FreeSpace 2 screen shot taking tip 101: If you've got something dark, put a nebula or a planet behind it so we can see the contrast.

All I currently see (aside from the truespace thing) is the green glow from a beam.  Need better pictures

I`ve seen Ff as Frigate too. Personally I think Fg makes the most sense. Of course with Trashman's it would have to be MFg
