nobody wants to outright say it, but people are *****ing because of how it started in the first place, yet its old.

Let them do what they want. If they think interface first is more important than fredding, or modeling, or they just want to do it because they can, then let them. If you don't like the ****, then say so, or make suggestions, but stop *****ing about the same thing over and over.

O.k. - now you're really making me angry....

I work on my PC only on saturday and sunday (sometimes I add half the friday and monday). I have two heavy exams coming, and when I come home for the weekend I have duties I must attend to, and people are constantly trying to remove me from the PC, and then people like you who can only s*** around.

There's only 6 of us, and I'm currently the only modeler.... I allready have several working models and am working on about 30 others....
We have a bunch of weapons that are currently beeing tested...
As for the missions - we're still designing them..have the begining and the ending more or less done, doing the middle now.

So I say again:

Free Terran mentioned that I should ask you about some models I have BUT I knew you were a busy guy and decided not to bother you (but didn't know just HOW busy until now!)... You do good work and I for one appreciate your efforts (remember the screen I posted of my yorktown carrier with your poenix fighters launching from it - Right when you first released the link) I was one of the first to say - Cool assed fighter...

   Just remember the most important thing about modding, it's cause YOU want to do it. Not cause someone else wants you to. If they want it so bad least they can do is show some appreciation and a little restraint, aside from the normal and expected , "hey how's the mod going" , versus the unacceptable "IS it done YET? WHy not? Get it done..."

  Just wanted you to know I'm feeling your pain, ok maybe not :wink:


and BTW: To whoever mentioned the RT mod...

   Release 1 was more of a kit, YOU have to use the editor and make your own missions (or are you not that creative?) I made 8 missions so far (WITH FULL VOICES)... Just waiting for for the ground mod to someday get done so I can do things like Operation Star-Saver (khyron kidnapped minmei). Not bad so far with 18 missions planned... Considering I'm doing it on my own.

If release 2 is never made available or just folds it will REALLY SUCK! I was so looking forward to the enhancement and new mecha!!!!!!! PLS save this mod!!!!!

anyway, my advice is to first get some missions, but you don't have to follow it.

I`m not having a go at you Trashman. My point is this. If you keep pimping your campaign like this until you do have something to show for it you might find that some people have gotten bored of it withoout even trying it.

You may have noticed that most campaigns don`t post anything much for weeks or months and then suddenly post a whole load of stuff.
 It shows that the campaign is progressing just as much as a post every few days does and it tends to impress me more.

As for the interface art I like what I've seen but it would also have been nice to have seen it in game the first time I ever saw it. That gives the campaign a polished feel from the moment you play it that isn`t as impressive if you`ve given things away earlier.

Maybe it's just cause you`re at the other end of the scale from me. I tend to not pimp at all unless I have something to show for it. That's one reason why very few people will have heard of my own single-handed campaign and why MG only gets pimped when I actually have something new to show.

Anyway I`m not trying to tell you what to do. It's your campaign do things in whatever order you wish.

1. Terran is doing the interface, and not me.... if he has time, than he can do several version as far as I care...He's allso doing the weapons, webpage and several other stuff....and he can FRED

2. I'm doing models, weapons, PCS editing, FREDINg, mission designing, FREDing and other stuff

3. SLOTH is allso doing mission design and FREDing...

We carry the whole project more or less ourselvs...
Terran will stop posting all those interface stuff (he's going on my nerves too). And we will start making missions as soon as we're done with the misssion design....

Patience people...patience....
We're going as fast as we can....

Ok, contradicting myself a bit, This is exactly what people don't want you to do. Are you listening to them? Don't continueously give away **** from your campaign or else no one will want to play when it comes out because they will already have. Don't realease any models. Stop showing us everything you do. Let people want to see your work.

Well I'll tell you what is good for showing off:

Screenshots: (that show off a few key models or weapons, and good screenshots. But once again, you don't want to show everything)

Info: Lotsa good, comeplete tech descriptions and info on known species and planets, epople, etc. Try not to give away too much stuff on your new race unless they will be known completely from the start.

Render: Promotional renders are great, as long as they are different from each other.

Dev stuff is cool.

Fanfics: good, grammatically correct fanfics are also good. If you can get people to like a story leading up to the campaign, then they'll effectively want to play the campaign to hear the end of the story.

And as a rule of thumb, it's better to stream this kinda stuff, and then not show anything having to do directly with the campaign until it comes out. Exceptions would be the occasion model or two before release, but not a big pack or anything if you don't have a lot of models or if they are key story models (examples would be - V releasing the Aelous (good) vs. V releasing the Colossus (bad) )

Just remember there's a semi-fine medium between it all.
