I have two problems.........

1. The ion cannons I made (like Terran Heavy turret) behave strangely. When a capship fires on the Ravana it gets destroyed after a few hits. When it fires on the Sathanas it gives it damage up to a certan hull percentage (sometimes 74%, sometimes 34%,.. random value as far as I can tell) and then no matter how many ships fire on it (with the Ion cannon), they can't damage it further. Other weapons can........


2. I have models with only a few fliped faces. Only a few of them are transparent. If I click flip normals thant the bad ones become normal, but the normal ones allso flip, becoming transparent.
I can't select the bad ones... not until I flip them..

For the first one, add the "Huge" flag to the weapon's table entry; it sounds like that is missing. I don't know anything about modeling though so I can't answer the other one.

Could you try positioning the 'camera' inside the ship looking out? You might be able to catch the faces that way. If not, can't help, I only use TS for conversion.
A messy way to do it, if all else failed, would be to select every single face you can select and see as normal, flip them, deselect, and flip everything. That might work.

1. The weapons have the HUGE tag.
 They can only be used on capships and fired only at capships.



2. I think I can solve that. i was thinging to do it that way, but hoped for a better solution!

That's it.

As for the second question, most 3D progs have a function like "UNIFY normals" in 3DS, which switches normals into the same direction. Then you can use FLIP normals if it were still be wrong.

but the Ion Cannon still screws up. It had "Big Ship" and "Huge" tags from the very begining!

Did you make the weapon's entry by copying a similar weapon? Start from scratch, using something appropriate like the Terran Turret as a template - less thing to wrong that way. It would help if you could post the entry so we could have a proper look at it, but I doubt FT would approve if this is an Apocalypse thingy.

The strange thing is - the Ravana ALLWAYS gets destroyed, the Sathanas never. It allways stops getting damage at one point...?
