How did you make it? Dance Ejay?
The vocals are good, which seems to be the basis for any popular dance record these days, but I have some ideas for improvement - first add a better drum loop. Or a drum loop for a start. The current one is too slow and lacks any real rythme.
Keep the trancy bit that starts at 19 seconds a bit longer - this should be the main tune of the song.
The base line at the start should be kept through out the song, it changes three times.
The crashes you have (ie where a snare fades up at a point of change in the song) should be louder/longer.
Also it lacks structure. That basic parts of the song fade in and out and change to often. Here is a simpe order used in a lot of popular dance tracks:
- Basic elements of song - this allows DJ's to mix it in easily.
- Queit with only main melody
- Introduce vocals
- Build up song again, with verse, corus,
- Breakdown, just main melody
- reintroduce vocals
- Bring it all back in again, with another element to the song, corus
- Short breakdown
- Keychange, corus
- Vocals fade out
- Whole song fades out, allowing easy mixing into next record.
It works, listen to 'Set you free' by N Trance (the 2001 mix), your song sounds a bit like it.
