90 tigers found dead
http://abcnews.go.com/wire/US/reuters20030425_137.html

That sick son of a *****!  If you ask me, they outta throw him in a cave with the surviving cats and let them have a go at him.
Gargoyles, Season 1.  Buy it, or DIE! :)

They get wackos like this all the time- the guys who collect animals. Some of 'em take care of them, some don't. Fact, they got another tiger lady up our way about a year ago.

Don't know that he's so special, though. A regular animal rescue shelter offs more regular cats than this in a month, and tons of people keep hordes of dogs and **** and starve them to death all the time.

I'll grant you that, but... TIGERS?! And 58 dead cubs in a FREEZER?

Christ. I can't think of anything horrible enough to do to that guy.

If they were alive when he put them in that freezer, yeah, that's pretty ****ed up.

It's fairly ****ed up either way, but nothing special if he just hoards them and forgets them.

Dude, its ****ing cruelty anyway you freakin slice it.  This is one of the few instances where PETA would actually be USEFUL for a change.

Dude, this happens every day though. If you were pissed off at this sort of behavior in general, that'd be one thing, but you're treating this event like it's anomalous. And it's not. People this ****ed up happen all the ****in' time. Which is why groups like the PETA are around.

Never mind the ****ed-up corporate ****, stuff like burning chickens' beaks off and stuff, which is even worse. What, you think such a big deal about animal cruelty is made because once in a while little old Mrs. Tibble from down the street forgets to feed her cat? It's vile ****, man, and it happens on a daily basis.

The only thing that gripes me is that they are Tigers.  They are an endangered species and should be protected.  If they are/were a performance animal, they should be in publically accessable care facility closely monitored by the Dept. of Interior or Agriculture and not in somebody's barn.

This is what PETA should be prosecuting and preventing not chasing the #@$@#$ Oscar-Meier WeinerMobile!
So as through a glass, and darkly
The age long strife I see
Where I fought in many guises,
Many names, but always me.

There are only 10 types of people in the world , those that understand binary and those that don't.

Mmm hmm. I like this. So you hear some news report that as an aside makes fun of what deluded fools the PETA are, or some comedy skit based on the whole throwing-blood-on-furs thing, and so in your minds you're of the informed opinion that the PETA is a bunch of useless, whiny vegan *****es who never do anything useful. Well, they are whiny vegan *****es, but perhaps you should look closer, actually take a look at what they've ****ing done in the past ten years. They're among the last relevant, active leftist groups left in this godforsaken neofascist ****hole of a country. Everyone else moved on up to Canada when the country got taken over by their worst nightmares.

Honestly, can't blame them. Was bad enough 40 years ago, what with enough senators to make HUAC. Now, the entire government's guys straight out of 30s Germany.

true, what sickens me most is that someone can do this sort of thing, and the only afterthought they have is not of remorse etc, but how much cash they'd line thier wallets with.. it is true what they say, "the love of money is the root of all evil"

we are far from the idillic(sp?) "civilised" people we envisioned so many years ago, in fact aside from the use of technology and ****, the human psyche has not fundamentally changed in the past 200 years or so.. think about it, we are embedded in or own arogance that we are the supreme species in our own tiny little universe, and that creatures from chickens to tigers are only there to make us wealthy(as well as humans)... we will be set in our ways until a much more advanced species shows up and gives us all a royal boot up the arse, so to speak....

we aren't that much different to the animals that we kill only the fact that we use more advanced methods of killing..:blah:

what sets us apart from the rest of the animal kingdom is that we are willing to fight to protect other species so that they live on in relative peace... unfortunately.. bastards like that make it difficult, it's only the ones that get caught that the general populace dispise, and once that's over, they go back to thier own little universe safe in the fact that it "won't happen again" but it always does...

in case of emergency, administer caffeine to the artist,
he will become docile after that,

Believe me, we can (unwillingly) kick our own arse, we don't need the Shivans for that.

Well, we're carnivorous monkeys. If anything, our success has made our own evolution toward anything less rapacious and violent slow down. In fact, as far as mental abilities go, we probably haven't changed much of at all since, say, the days of the Plague (physiology is another story). No news there.

However, I find it highly unlikely that anything more "advanced" (read: smart) is gonna show up soon, if only because we'd probably see it coming and nip the competition in the bud- never mind that it'd be a few million years at least before anything started trending that way. What takes us out will almost certainly be either our own weapons (fun!) or a nasty virus (depressing!). I tend more towards the former, if only because big explosions are so much more thorough.

Possible we'll be off this rock by the time we torch it, though. The eventuality that we'll eventually do so is pretty much taken for granted at this point by most people (we have the capability- hell, anyone with some pitchblende and some technical equipment has the capability, it's not nearly as hard to make a simple atomic bomb as the government likes people to think- and we all know we're nutty enough), it's a question of when.
