FSURP has re-emerged!
That's right, the Freespace Universal Reference Project has been resurrected, thanks to myself. It's maiden voyage is to chronocle the timeline of the Freespace universe, from 2300 to 2400. Check it out! :D

I'm working on integrating all sorts of information into this, from every conceiveable source. Look for an exhaustively in-depth ship and weapon database, for Volition ships as well as modded ships, coming soon, as well as reference guides for the four species and lots of help areas.

FSURP Mark II is here!

In the interests of exactness, I just want to point out that there are a number of errors that I've noticed so far on the FSURP.

First of all, Admiral Bosch was in command of the 6th Fleet (based in Epsilon Pegasi), not the 4th Fleet, at the start of the NTF Rebellion. And "Neo-Terra" is technically the name of Bosch's ideology, not his government, which was probably just called "the Neo-Terran government." If America has an ideology, it's generally called "the American Dream," while the US government is called simply that, "the US government."

Also, the GTI was never an actual "government," as your faction database suggests. The GTI was pretty much the CIA of the GTA during the First Great War back in 2335. Many GTI officers tried to stage a coup d'etat with their Hades superdestroyer (hence the "Hades Rebellion") but some GTI officers (including Aken Bosch, who was a GTI pilot) refused to go along with the GTI rebels and warned the GTA about the Hades and the coup attempt.

It's the same with the Hammer of Light as well. The HoL was more a religious movement of disgruntled military officers (with a smattering of priests) than an actual planetary government of rebellious Vasudan planets (although HoL did manage to atleast partially posess a few Vasudan systems like Altair during the Great War). If it helps, think of the HoL as a sort of futuristic Al Queda with access to state-of-the-art military equipment.

Most everything else looks okay at first glance.

I have additional information posted at the FRED Zone, located here:

http://ugcworld.com/fredzone/

Lonestar and I did research on FS history and posted it here. Aside from my historical timeline claiming that Bosch constructed the NTF Iceni inside the Deneb asteroid belt (this is erroneous; Bosch built the Iceni in Polaris after his coup and then hid the Iceni in the Deneb asteroid belt once he took that system and began his research into the Ancient archeaological sites in Deneb) and that I couldn't confirm some dates for some events (those dates had question marks next to them), the timeline and other FS info at FRED Zone should be accurate.

One thing I don't like. The TV war and Unification parts are non-canon. Mostly they are taken from the timeline of a certain campaign.

Either keep the timeline canon, or compromise with ALL user campaigns.

If I see direct *non-canonical* references to the TV-War campaign (drat, I promised no names), I want to see direct references to LM (Naturally) , and NTV in the Neo-Terran Front section, Derelict and Warzone in the Post-Capella section (hell, they don't even violate each-others timelines, so why not), etc. etc.

So I say again, either keep it strictly to what can be deducted from V, or screw canon all together.

Personally I'd leave anything after Capella alone and put in links to TVWP in but just mark them as non-canon.

That way if you want to invent your own version of the TVW you can but if you'd rather just use the events as stated it's fine too. Some of would like to make comments relating to the TV war but it's usually far too much hassle to do all the work coming up with them.

I consider TVWP a special case since it has gone back and covered what went on during the war. AFAIK it's the only campaign that has covered that period in any detail. That's something that can't be said for post Capella.
Just to make you happy though the timeline for your own Regulus campaign might also be includable unless someone else has also covered the NTF rebellion.

AFAIK, the following campaigns have covered the Pre-FS2 NTF war, and only NTV and Regulus campaign are contradictory:

Regulus Campaign (beginning, taking of Polaris, Regulus)
Neo Terra Victorious (same)
LM 1 (The Liberty case)
LM 2 (Nothing important)
LM 3 (Capture of Admiral MacDerby, NTF assaults the GTD Aquitaine)
(eventually) LM 4 (Battle of Alpha Centauri)

NTV isn't done yet, and it's set in an alternate universe. I'll be more than willing to throw in important NTF offensives and defensives in 2336 if you provide them, but once it contradicts the main campaign I'll have to stop. :)

Lightning Marshal guys, provide some dates and important events. So long as they don't contradict canon FS2 I'll include them. Basically, I'll include everything in here that fits in with canon FS2, if only you provide it to me.

In short, this timeline has all canonical events, and is being fleshed out by non-canonical events that are in agreement with canon. Eishtmo's T-V War timeline is non-canon, but fits in well with a period where there is no other data avaliable. Similarly, I extrapolated much of what happens in the reconstruction period. It's dependant on YOUR submissions, so hop to it!

Oh, and the Terran section is done.

oh one question: Why is there a two month gap between the deployment of the Colossus and the next event?

Well something had to happen then. I don't think it was that big a gap and if it was, something happened.

That'd make a good point for a campaign to exploit maybe...

Because someone miscalculated the dates. The entire Freespace 2 main campaign lasted less than a month. We know this because Admiral Petrarch specifically says at the beginning of the campaign (before the Colossus is launched) that the GTVA had been battling the NTF for 18 months. When the NTF is driven into the nebula about two thirds of the way into the main campaign (which occurs after the Colossus is launched), Petrarch specifically says that "18 months of carnage are finally coming to an end." If the main campaign had lasted any longer than a month, then Admiral Petrarch would have said "19 months of carnage" or "20 months" or somesuch. The fact that he didn't shows that the entire FS2 campaign lasted less than a month.

Thus, GE, I think you need to revamp your 2367 timeline because the one you have now goes against canon. If it helps, use my timelines at FRED Zone. Those don't have dates because I didn't have enough info to extrapolate exact dates, but they do have all the events in the proper order.

Hey GE. Could you capitalize my name on the site? Everywhere else I'm capital N.

Plus, I could have a general synopsis of the times done in a week (ex. Written essay over Second Great War/Great War/Reconstruction).
Spoon - I stand in awe by your flawless fredding. Truely, never before have I witnessed such magnificant display of beamz.
Axem -  I don't know what I'll do with my life now. Maybe I'll become a Nun, or take up Macrame. But where ever I go... I will remember you!
Axem - Sorry to post again when I said I was leaving for good, but something was nagging me. I don't want to say it in a way that shames the campaign but I think we can all agree it is actually.. incomplete. It is missing... Voice Acting.
Quanto - I for one would love to lend my beautiful singing voice into this wholesome project.
Nuclear1 - I want a duet.
AndrewofDoom - Make it a trio!

I dunno how much I agree with that. There are many instances where a squadron leader refers to an event that happens in the future, and couldn't possibly happen in the timeframe of a  few hours. Such as the "We'll drop you off at (can't remember where), where´ll you catch a transport back to Vega" or the infiltration of the NTF, for that matter. Also several cases of "Petrarch/Cordova/SquadronLeaderX will address the crew at (insert time here) tomorrow."

So I'd estimate about 2 months or so.

I tend to think the main FS2 campaign took longer than a month too.

But the example Stunaep has just stated are a little poor. It shouldn't take more than a day to get from one end of the GTVA to the other. The trip back to Vega for instance shouldn't have taken more than a few hours rather than days.

The case about briefings sometimes being the next day though is a fair point.

Oh no? Going through customs in Estonia can take a fair amount of a day, imagine what´d happen in the GTVA, with all those people hauling SpaceCrack(tm)
