[Rampage]

The Taiidan Heavy Cruiser, or S'kaal Faa, has been used as a popular model within the Freespace 2 community.  The model was publicized over 4 times amongst many fan-made campaigns for Freespace 2.  When MODded, the cruiser is often presented as a corvette-class capital vessel.

What more do we want from it?  The model has been literally MODded to DEATH.  Homeworld offers an array of different models; why the Taiidani Heavy Cruiser?  The Taiidani Destroyer is far more popular than it.  (For maybe MODders can't edit the Destroyer due to model problems.)

Anyway, the model itself has infinite possibilities in trueSpace at the mercy of the modeller.  Many windows, bays, weapon systems, etc. have been added over the months, each and every time differently.  Rampage, Modder Paladin, has molded the Cruiser into something new (after his failure with the Phobos): The GTCv [Insert Name Here]!



The model itself will be released in due time.  In the mean time, please think up a good name for Rampage's ship.  Also note that the ship has not been turreted.  Please suggest the optimal amount of turrets this vessel should bear (Appropriate for a Corvette) and suggest it to him.

- 2 Medium beams on each wing (1 top and 1 bottom)
- 4 AAA on the rear part of the ship (Top, bottom, left & right)

Call it the GTCv Peloponnesus and add a missile launcher to each wing on the side.

I would suggest 4 forward heavy beams(think Deimos), 2 rear heavy beams, a total of 8 flak(2 on top, 2 on bottom, and 1 on the top and bottom of each fin), some anit-fighter beams on the rear(Leviathan inspired), and then your basic guns like the Prometheus as you like.  I belive that will make for a formidable vessel.  As for the name I would call it the GTCv Proteus.

Why does it have to be greek?

Why not Thor or Baldur or something?

Granted, the :V: ships use greek designations, but there are only so many to go around.

On the load out, it should be similar to the Deimos just based on class.  And despite indications to the contrary even destroyers only have 1 or 2 big beams so this shouldn't have any.  Corvette, the Nike aside, mount slash turrets which while weaker than direct fire turrets look cooler and fire faster.  That said here's my loadout:

The Taiidan heavy cruiser was codenamed Qwaar-Jet. The Skaal Fa was the missle destroyer.

As for the name the GTCv Nereid doesn't sound bad. It also keeps it easy to refer to.

I have no suggestions for weapons simply because I'm not familiar with them(yet) to be able to make any.

And I really meant individual ships, rather than classes. Take the NTF cruisers, Glorious and Impervious, for instance.

I think Tiara's got something with GTCv Lethe.  Weapons wise, I stick to my original idea, I think this ship should be a heavy hitter.  A contenda.

True, but I would like to hear the community's suggestions.  (I really like the name Nereid.)

As for the weapon system, I would prefer it toned down a bit.  I like Cateran's, Liberator's, and Tiara's proposals.  I may just combine them.
