Of course FTP is THE file transfer method since it's really meant only for that but as Maeg said DC (or DC++) is more a community thing because of the chat possibility. I've been using DC++ for a while now (mostly in our LAN) and it's been a great method to share things.

What I find odd is that no one uses Usenet here. Admittedly it's not the most efficient method but I've seen Matrix 2. I watch 24 BEFORE it's transmitted in the US and although I live in the UK I get to watch most shows from the US before they are shown on satalite TV.

As for storage I bought an 80GB hard drive a while back and filled it in less than a month. I had to buy a new writer to backup stuff like episodes of Space : Above and Beyond which I wanted to keep cause my old 4x CD writer just couldn't keep up
