Aside from the stuff already mentioned, the only things I can think of are that the tiny flak bolts that come out of them look silly in comparison with their huge barrel size and that Volition accidentally switched the strength values in the table for two of the turrets, making the rearmost big turret really weak and some other "normal" turret really strong.

And CP: you answered the wrong question.

That isn't at all unique to the Hecate and Iceni though; many other ships in the game have turrets that seem to be totally randomly numbered.
