Because the Covenant destroyed Reach before any more SPARTAN's  could be trained, plus the initial program was just an experiment to see if it would work.

I saw this years E3 Halo 2 trailer. I'm glad it's delayed because I don't have top choose between playing it and Half-Life 2.

the chief was(and still is) the last SPARTAN.

the Spartan training and research facilities that were located on reach were destroyed with it, when the covenant 'glassed' the planet (if you don't know what i meant by 'glassed' think how glass is made but on a much larger scale)

the PoA was the last human Vessel to escape the destruction of reach...(it's a cruiser yet it's over 1.5 clicks long:wtf: :eek2: )

PoA is an older model turnsky the newer ones are probably smaller.

mind you, they could be refferring to the WWII version of cruisers, they were essentally 'pocket battleships'


or reference to 'Heavy Cruiser' (Homeworld)

Don't forget FS is the one with the goofy size classifications.  Normally cruisers are considered larger than destroyers.
