1). Don't know how to set up additional hardpoint for beam weapons.
2). It isn't bad to have some diversity is it? Maybe this could be explained by the fact that their rear is their weakness and they want to do something about it. There are still 2 heavy Shivan turrets firing forward.
3). Transports aren't build to attack. So why put all the weaponry up front. I mean, the original Azrael had the same weapons layout, only different weaponry.

Perhaps if it had the beam at the front it could be an assault transport. It could blast through defences with it's beam, and force a boarding on an enemy vessel.

Thanks, but its just a 50% smaller and somewhat weaker then a normal SAAA. It was done in like 2 minutes
