(WIP) beam cruiser
So what do you guys think?

1 HUGE POWERFUL beam cannon.
4 beam turrets for either anti-fighter or regular anti-capital ship.
3 Flak turrets.
1 missle turret.
1 laser turret.

Name:Haven't thought of one yet.




Retexturing is a given, but I want to know what you think of the design.
I have big plans, now if only I could see them through.

Unless you want it as a vulnerability, I'd put a aaaf one the front of the bottom white fin.

and you finally got FS2?

EDIT: Make the main cannon the only anti-ship. The others only aaaf.

im sure a valhalla could reduce it to a cinder with one shot.

valhalla loadout:

2 happy death beams
5 flash beam cannons
6 laser cannons
2 big a$$ flak guns
6 anti-fighter stinger missile launchers
4 fatman nuke launchers
2 meson torpedo launchers :eek:

needless to say, 3 of them iced a sathanas in a couple munites.

By the way the ship looks good but seems that it's design to work in packs...

Good idea. I didn't load this ship out to the max 'cuz when I usally make a capital ship I put too many turrets on it. But since this is the response I'm getting I'll put MORE on! ;7

And yes I do have FS2 now (YA). I finished the main campiagn a few days ago. WOW what a great game! :D

Hmm, the Lev is 253m, and I think it should be a bit smaller, if it's meant to hunt in packs.

I'd ignore that kind of response to be honest. For a size of around 300m that ship is over-gunned if anything.
 Besides any fool can make a ship capable of killing everything. It's not hard. Don't turn a good ship into a stupidly overpowered one just to win a pissing contest.

As for the design itself I quite like it. I'd be tempted to either shorten that big fin or taper it a little. I like that dinky little turret on the top too (I take it you know you'll have to make it point straight up when you convert to a pof though).

No offense, but why oh why do people around here feel the need to texture at random? Your main hull is in Deimos style, the fins look life Triton textures, and there are  what appears to be either Orion or Arcadia texs on that bump up the top. The overall effect is to give it a mismatched, scrappy look.

Some texture sets can be mixed (Collossus and Hecate, Orion and Arcadia) some cannot (Deimos and Triton).

That said Black Wolf does make a good point in that even as a bad texturer you should be able to see that some textures just don't belong together :)

It's sort of like the difference between not knowing how to paint your living room and not knowing that purple with pink spots is a bad choice :)

It looks all right to me.

The mis-matching of textures suggest it was cobbled together, and so would make an excellent pirates' vessel.

I don't see anything wrong with the textures, except for the 'fins' on the back.
