Strictly speaking, is space, size doesn't matter. If you tuck a fighter engine to a capship it should go fast. But this isn't the real world so who's complaining?

FT - try to makee the Shiva glows green...And post a picof a fighter using those glows, but from the side...

her... size does not matter, but mass does, and as mass increases as size does... size does matter.
so if you stick a fighter engine on a colossus, the thing won't move.

No..it would go fast...
It would accelerate...and acelerate..and acelerate some more...and end up going really fast (hey, it would take it long time to catch that speed, but it would go fast..in the end..!):D

ok, lets skip the physics debate, shall we?  Actually in most Sci-Fi (except maybe Star Trek) the engine and reactor core are directly related to each other (often one and the same or directly connected), so a bigger engine wouldn't even work with a fighter reactor core.  And if you put enough junk on a fighter to let it operate with a capital ship engine, then all you have is a seriously outgunned capship.  But I've lost where this discussion was supposed to go, so I'll leave it at that.

Oh yeah, back on the original topic:
Those Terran glows really do look cool, but FT, be careful.  When you make the actual glow small in comparison to the image file that contains it, you tend to get a lot of clipping from the side views, as you stretch the image farther in an attempt to offset the small glow size.  The resulting glow then spills outside of the ships hull and looks really bad.  But it does look good so far.

Wrong wrong WRONG! Capships have a lot of mass, and that means a lot of inertia. It would take an incredibly long time for a capship to attain decent speed with fighter engines because they don't produce enough thrust. In space, there is no top speed for anything besides the speed of light (no air), so  a Colossus fitted with Perseus engines might reach a high speed in a few years or so.:p

Oh, and those thruster glows kick ass.
