Which has better music?
A stupid-looking topic:

Which game has better music which one's do you like better? My vote is FS1's because I think they can give the true 'FreeSpace feeling'

Please do not have a look at those technically, we know FS2 takes the palm that point.

Which has better music?
It's been said by someone before, but--

FS1 music was more eeirie, more dynamic, and it gave you a feel that you were fighting an unstobbable enemy.

FS2 music was more like fighting a war on equal terms with less eerie, dynamicness, and more action (although less music in general)

Punctuation is your friend.

And I said nothing about the shivans being less powerful than they were in FS1, I just said that the music doesn't hint to that as much as FS1's did.

You aren't even fighting the shivans for half of FS2.

Freespace 1 hands down. Brief1 and Battle9... nothing like it.

FS2 without a doubt. I always listen to music from both while FREDding but when I made myself a greatest hits playlist more that 75% of it was from FS2.

Hell I can listen to Brief01 or Brief04 or permenent loop for ages while FREDding

Overall, I'll have to vote FS, some of the briefing and in game music is just well . . . great. That said, their are several pieces of FS2 music which are better.

I thought that I am the only man who loves FS1's music better. I was mistaken, again.

Thanks for all those who have voted yet, and for those are deciding to do it.

errm.. Freespace had music?! :o :p :D

Freespace 1 had M8-Normal 3... :shiver:
god I loved that one, the one where you're supporting the fleeing Vasudans in that three node system after Vasuda Prime got blasted??
loved the briefing too, it seemed so....hopeless, you know?

"it is estimated that over four billion innocent vasudans lost their lives" or something, it actually made me feel bad for them :)

[EDIT] But then, FS2 had FS2-Cinema :)
I've left that on at school and listened to it for whole periods, the "vocals" or choir or whatever you want to call it gets me everytime, and just the feel of it rocks...especially when it breaks out into that fast thing at 1:26 blah blah bl-

FS2 music is very good, but FS1 music has more of a feeling of despair to it.  Brief1 or whatever it is pwnz0rz

FS2 music sounds better (duh), but for sheer atmosphere, you can't beat FS1. It sounds so much more desparate, like you haven't got a hope in hell of surviving against the Shivans. Terrific stuff. Somebody should re-make them in high-quality audio so's I can stick 'em into FS2.

I also think that the atmosphere through FS1 is generally better than FS2. I don't quite know why, but you just feel so alone in most of the missions, and you feel so much smaller than you do in FS2. Very cool.
