Get Blender. It's free.

But I guess just try to find as many TrueSpace tutorials as you can, mostly to do with modeling and UV texturing. If you have problems with turrets and such, ask around.

I was just wondering that myself. I even posted a thread about it in Hard Light Forums.

Cap-ship making tutorial
Well, I'm working on a tutorial for adding turrets to ships at the mo' , pretty much as i learn it myself.    It's not exactly a capship tutorial, but it should be useful once it's finished (early next month, after my exams).

The earliest parts of the tutorial (TBC) is on the web at uk.geocities.com/aldo_futbol/tutorial/tutorial_1.htm , although it isn't finished yet by any means.

At the moment it covers creating the ship with turrets in TS1, and nameing the sub-objects, but I've yet to double-check it, so I won't be held responsible for any £$%^ ups caused by bad info there (at leats not yet).
