actually mine is the "Eye of Terror" Poster From warhammer 40K;)

which looks a bit like this:
   //Warning\\
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
do not torment the sleep deprived artist, he may be vicious when cornered,
in case of emergency, administer caffeine to the artist,
he will become docile after that,
and less likely to stab you in the eye with a mechanical pencil

Does "The Toxic Crusader" and shelves full of broken components beat that, or not? I don't follow these things...

That guy sure looks like he's getting into that stressball, anyways...:D

What IS Warhammer, by the way? I keep hearing about it, figured out it was some sort of mech-based thing, but that's as far as I got...

just look through "white drawf" magazine, that'll pretty much tell you what you need to..
or the website http://www.games-workshop.com

besides, i personally don't want to get into that sort of thing for the amount of time and money involved... (tis expensive after a while)

there's probably a warhammer player on the boards who could tell you a bit more

"And that's saying something, because I always have and still do consider buying a Mac"

unfortunately, there's not much of a warhammer 40K fanbase in tasmania os i never really got into it all that much. i'm still interested however, but cash has ALWAYS been an issue:doubt:

i used to play magic: the gathering a fair bit in high school, but not anymore...

What kinda crack are you on today, Venom? Someone spiked it with window-cleaner again, obviously. If you cared to complete that sentence, you would find that I'd no sooner pay for a Mac than I would saw off my own toes and eat them for lunch. And with good reason, and one that has nothing to do with modelling- I could get everything I need on either platform. But I suppose that's too much sentence for you, eh boy?

I used to hink that too ( hell, who, who's in the hobby, never thought "greedy GW bastards, 10 bucks for a damn command squad!!!"? ). But after a while when you have your large army, you realize you've spent, in what, two, theree years? about about 250 bucks. looks like a lot, then you look at how much you put in upgrading your PC, buying a new lightset and others for the ****ing car, your brand new Xbox with a second pad and 3 games, and, w00t! warhammer is cheap, all of a sudden.

Stryke: ah, sorry, didn't fully understand your sentence actually, so I kindda guessed it out. my bad.

I forgive you, my child.

[does that little two-fingers thing]

And hell, what hobby DOESN'T cost money? I suppose you could take up rock collecting...

Actually, come to think of it, that's more expensive than most.

 you're talking to someone who owns an xbox, 12 games and bought all the parts for his pc, and has paid full retail for about 150 odd games and is saving up for a $830 wacom graphics tablet
:p
i got a extra pad and 2 games for free as part of a customer loyalty thing;)

besides, i just don't have the space for painting the bloody things..

While I don't do it myself, I have to admit I admire the time and concentration my friends pour into Warhammer and stuff. They just sit there for hours painting. The words 'gigantic waste of time' come to mind sometimes, but... well, it's a Chinese thing, which highly values focussing and pouring effort into a single thing for extended lengths of time - it's a discipline, a great skill. Warhammer fits into that, in a funny sort of way. :D

well, i suppose each painted minuture is a work of art (sorta) i suppose those who paint them feel a sense of accomplishment and pride whenever they finish them.. sorta like myself and my photoshop work.. or a few people and their models/renders
as well as other assorted things...

well yeah, believe me, when you've painted a wyvern wih all the highlights and shadings, your bring it to your local GW store and they all go "whoah! you should bring it for the Golden Demon!", you sure feel proud :p
besides, yeah, it requires a lot of skills, it's painting, to me it's art.
