The OICW is not even operational yet, and won't be until 2009. It uses standard 5.56 NATO rounds, and fires a 23 MM grenade ( I think), that can be detonated at any time in the air, using the on-board computer and a microchip inside the grenade. Using this method, it can clear an enemy trench in seconds, as it flies overhead and dtonates, sending shrapnel down onto the unsuspecting troops below. It also has a computer tracking system, hopefully an IR-viewing/targeting system, an incredible weapon that won't, unfortunately, be in service for a long time.
