Ace, I wish you were around.

I'd show you what I've got so far. I've been looking at the Selket as a guide (it happens to display X-symmetry but not Y- or Z-symmetry). This mesh displays the same basic shape, but is definately distinct. I'm going for a two section design (forward symmetric sections with a single aft section) with some sort of connection between the parts.

my game. Its mine and yours and every other player's game. All those players will be looking at the ship design and wondering why someone textured a Terran ship to look Vasudan (for example). Vasudan ships look a certain way. Terran ships look a certain way. Departing radically from that without a bloody good reason takes a part of the game away from the players, IMHO. It is, therefore, very important to me to get these engines to look like

Vasudans would have designed them.
I know I think too much about these things, but its all a part of the way my brain works and thus a part of the way I work on the mesh.
