Hi, im Hippos brother Mike. I went to run freespace (1), so i put in the first cd cause i just restarted the campagian. i click play and watch the movie. the log in screen came up, and there were no pilots :confused:
now, honestly, i didn't even touch anything else. i just started the computer after rob left, and went to the game. i didnt even enter the hard drive. I've tried 5 times now, and it still asks for a new pilot name.
the good thing is, he backs up his files daily after i microwaved his cd... so could someone tell me what the files would be named if his pilot name is Hippo so i can search for them?
ps; i would put this in the free space forum but he looks there too often, and i can't get to it...
thanks

he deleted them and backed tem up somewhere because he didn't want you messing them up? :D :D :D :D D :D

hahahahaha that's hilarious :D

if he backs his files up every day (including his pilot files?) then only he would know where he put them.  try asking him?

...and he is of course not going to find out because you posted your request on a public forum that he frequents? :rolleyes:

Sorry, but this is hilarious, since it sounds like my little bro and me. ;)

Search for any and all .plr files - *.plr

There is just the .plr files for single and multiplayer.

Lets be smart about it, go look in /Games/FreeSpace/data/players and see where his pilot files are.

Yeah, if he has the display of registered extensions turned off, then the .plr extension might not show up. Where is this Hippo. file located?

...that's assuming he's a logical human being like you and I and actually installs all his games under \Games\... ;)

thats the directory, and in the sinle folder, i put Hippo.plr but in the multi directory there is Hippo13.plr, Hippo13.FreeSpace and Hippo13.FreeSpace (yes, there are two)

I solved the temporary problm with pilot view, and told him his kills, and hes sleeping over his girlfriend house(i think), so i think im safe for the moment.

The file i found was in the folder as follows;
C:/games/FreeSpace/Shortcut to Drive D/Backup/AHTW/FS1/All Data/Shortcut to Drive C/_Emergency Backup_/Games/FreeSpace/Data/Players/Single

Im going to start going through disks and stuff.
