Need a stable copy of fs2_open

I am willing to do some work on getting rid of some of the DX8 bugs if someone is willing to:

1. Put a stable version of the source on the net for me to download
2. Make sure I have knowledge and links to any addition files needed to run fs2_open (I dont have a clue, I am out of the loop)
