I don't get it...

I recently reskinned a Deimos corvette (using Aurora) so it would be disinguishable as a new ship (I haven't found anything else that looks good enough to be my advanced corvette yet).  

It looks fine, except the target box image hasn't changed.  What have I done wrong?

you didn't reskin all the LODS, i think
just another newbie without any modding, FREDding or real programming experience

Kasperl has hit the nail on the head I suspect.

 If you fly a few kms away from the the deimos and then fly towards it you'll probably notice it change colour a couple of times :D

yeah, the target box will always try and use lod2 if the ship model has one. if not it will use lod1.
