Author Topic: Finally got FS2!  (Read 1976 times)

Mere moments before I was about to break down and bid $50 that I didn't have for an eBay copy, I found CD images on eMule.  After 4 days straight downloading (I'm not kidding, eMule may be great for finding stuff but gawd), I burned them and checked it out.

OH... MY... GOD!!! If this game came out tomorrow, the graphics would be considered amazing, and the presentation and fun factor puts recent games to absolute shame.  Looking forward to being able to download mods and see what cool stuff you guys have put out.

P.S.  I know most of you frown on getting images through file sharing, but there are two mitigating factors, I believe.  First, you're not supporting the devs by buying a copy on eBay, and demand is still so strong that you're not screwing the eBay sellers out of any money, either.  In fact, you're not screwing anyone out of anything, so while I normally consider pirating to be equivalent to stealing, for FS2 I would make an exception.  Second, I'm going into my senior year in college, and for those of you who have been there, you know that means "Money?  What's that?"  I can't even afford to fill up my gas tank, much less buy games.

No apology necessary.  Wasn't your fault.

Hmm, the force is strong with this one..
I am sure you will get the welcome beam in due time, sooner rather than later, but for all that matters...

I mean, feel free to copy your own copy and give it to ANY one who appreciates science fiction. They will love it, let me tell you.

PS. that E-mule thing rules.
If you want to be ready for Wing Commander Saga: The Darkest Dawn, then download and play the prologue first.

Here,

Then, while waiting for the Darkest dawn, Download Starshatter 4.02

You 'll understand why once you have.

Basically Fs2 is what you would call FREEWARE. All but some of its files are basically gratiously given over to the gaming world by Volition, the makers of this game.

So, we Fs2Fans are in the position to actively promote COPYing of this game.

Well, I played through almost the entire game in one sitting.  Just got done.  :D  Broke my heart to see the Collosus go down.  All in all, I liked the FS1 story and pacing better, but the graphics, gameplay, etc. was head and shoulders better in FS2.  All in all, I consider FS2 to be the best space game ever, and you'd be hard pressed to name a space sim released in the last 10 years that I haven't played (Starlancer's the only big ticket one I think)

Hear hear!

How'd you like the FS1 story and pacing with FS2 quality graphics, and fun new extras like hi-res textures and a shielded Lucifer? :thepimp:
