It's awsome to see how much lighting can improve things.
It's as if an entierly different - and lot more talented - artist has created the last one.

it's odd. use the sun on the bacground as a reference and place the light accordingly. Now the nebula probably takes its color from the neighbouring star, so I suppose this one should glow red -> light should have a slight red tint.
then, put more distance etween the erynies, I think, they're too close to each other.
what else? mmh...
decrease the opacity of the nebula a bit.
more important: give a focal point to the camera: what is the goal of this pic? is it focused on the full wing? then center the wing on the pic. on the leader? then center onthat ship, and add range blurr to the three other ships. etc etc.
The main thing for a render to be remembered, is to give it a meaning. Steak would have said it has to tell a story. I couldn't agree more.

I can't believe how good you guys are at this.

It would have took me ages to come up with these advices.

Anyway I think working out the correct color for the nebula's going to be the hard part, since in theory it shouldn't have any self illumination, only reflected light from the star.

Your latest one has come quite a long way - in cases like this, lighting is everything. Also, as Venom already mentioned, the render is quite pointless - there's no big reason for me to be compelled to see it, it's not more pretty than other renders, it's not a new ship being shown, it's got no story. But that's forgiveable for a first render. Just keep it in mind for future ones

hmmm

what id do is mix stuff a little red from the neb so it would show up only a lil at the fighters and about 40% yellowish-white from behind camera
