Only because I have intellectually reserved 3.6 for multi stuff ;)

Thsi will be something like 3.5.5

I want to do a couple things:

1) re-release the launcher, I think there are a couple versions out there, get that all on the same rev and everyone certain of it

2) release a bug fixed build from the various activities of the last 60 days

3) release a fred friendly build with movies disabled or MAYBE actually fix that alt-tab bug

4) possibly release a seperate build, though likely not just put the damn thing in, of the text-to-speech code and things like cloak, etc.

2 and 4 might be the same build, open to suggestion on that.

I would LIKE to do this before I leave for LA next Sunday, but I may get Phreak or Goober to stand in for me if we miss that deadline.

Has  decision on how to impliment cloaking for the player been reached?

Will it be Sexp controlled or will a new button be mapped for it?

That and the text-to-speech thing are what I'm looking forward too.

in theory: fire once to start, fire again to stop. i'm going to have to write up some example table entries that can demonstrate different types of cloak device.

er how many bugs are gonna be fixed? right now it crashes way to much....

I had a critical hardware failure and lost my harddrive. Im wating on a new harddrive(and several new chassi fans). Until then I cant check my email.

If you are talking about DX8 not letting you alt tab out. I have fixed that on my DX8 version. I could put it into fs2_open soonish (by the end of the weekend) but I would prefer to test it out on different OS's first.

If someone else is already working on this they should contact me. Ed, please reply to this using my e-mail address as well.

i had freespace lock up alot when i would try to exit the game. it would take several minutes for windows to become useable after freespace was told to close. i traced it to xp's error reporting services, which i thought i had disabled. windows somehow thinks freespace had crashed and would try to report the error, even though no error existed. is there any way to speed up shutdown of the game?

Does this happen with OGL or just DX8?

Sorry, been at a client the last several days, limited (and sucky) net access.

Nuke: To my knowledge, most everything in the readme IS in the current codebase.

Bottomfan: Bummer man, do you need me to email you the readme or do you have it?

RT: I will email you when I get back to the hotel, did you get my email RE: the launcher? I see an updated copy of the exe in a thread here, got updated code you are willing to share? If you have a code snippet, might as well paste it on the forums somewhere, since you probably don't have an up to date CVS.

No.

Bug fix:

To fix the bug I put a bit of code into the launcher but it would be best to fix it in the main code.

Find the registry entry that reads D3DFast and make it default to zero if its not found instead of FFFF.

i run dx8, i have insufficient ogl support. i think it is more linked to windows than the code. but it makes modding kinda difficult because i always have to reboot after every run of the game.

I got my computer parts today, Il put it all together this weekend.

Im writing this on my fathers laptop. Il try to get things running as soon as I can so I can complete the readme.
