A week or so ago I commited code changes (fully detailed in my commit and also mentioned on the boards).

These changes require any new fs2_open builds to use my new version of the launcher which I have also provided binarys and source for.

The internal D3D launcher does not exist any more. It seems there is some confusion over this issue. Has my code been rolled back? Has the new launcher been released with the new build? Have people been told to use the new launcher? Does everyone even know about the launcher? These questions need to be answered.

I am very busy at the moment and do not have the time to get stuck into this and find out whats gone wrong, I will however fix any real problems with the Launcher and startup of D3D8.

I went through a massive testing process with my changes with the help of a community member who had problems with the previous launcher. While there might be some obscure card specific problems I believe that for most users it should work fine unless my code has been tampered with.

New exe needs the new launcher to run.
The old launcher wont opperate correcly with new exes.

Thoughts?

where did you upload the new launcher code? I am trying to collect it all together now.

I never saw the commit messages to CVS for the actual exe changes. Did you commit them to the main branch?

Looks like the code is OK, the checkin notes are there.
Sorry didnt mean to cause a fuss.

Here is a copy of the CVS log for the cpp file.

" * fs2_open now uses the registry entry 'VideocardFs2open' instead of 'Videocard' to store its video settings. To run fs2_open now you MUST use the launcher I have provided.
