do not torment the sleep deprived artist, he may be vicious when cornered,
in case of emergency, administer caffeine to the artist,
he will become docile after that,
and less likely to stab you in the eye with a mechanical pencil

Those jerks. Anyone who can make a boat out of a car in their garage like that deserves to get wherever the hell they want.

I don't think there are any cable stations in Cuba, man.

Incidentially, why is it everything you say relates back to some passive entertainment? Do you never go outside or something? It just struck me that everything is "played too much Counterstrike", "watched too much Junkyard Wars"...

...

That's really sad.

Well first line about counterstrike... because it's rather true.
Why Junkyard Wars?  Look at the damn thing, and look at one of the episodes... c'mon.

I'm an engineer... I love shows like that.   There the only ones I really watch, besides good sci-fi.  I don't need to defend the little... do you go outside comment.  If you want to flame me, have at it.  I'll go at you for a while too.   If not, just take the joke for what it was, a joke.

How would that work, anyway? It was floating, but by the looks of the picture just barely, and the bottom's not watertight, you'd think the engine would get waterlogged after a day...

Well considering I once saw a program about someone trying to cross the English Channel in a VW Beetle this doesn't surprise me.

I do agree though that anyone resourceful and brave enough to try this method to get into the USA really has what it takes do well in the country :)

I've seen better, like the Norwegian (I think) artists who made a boat out of a dead pig.

They sank it... that truck belonged in a museum.

yea i am tight they did that, that 4x4-boat was like an official civilina ambhibious vehicle. god damned i be if cuba invaded us with those LOL....

but on the real it shoulda been in a mueseum....

they shoulda added stealthy features to it, some triangles lol!

Well the bottom of an engine block is usually pretty solid.  You only have to keep the engine breathing really after that.  They were right on the edge.  But still... Steel drums.... nice idea.

not to mention the ocean would make a good radiator, if it was actually touching. it looked like what would be the front bumper was well out of water.

I agree.  I mean if they made a truck float, let them in.

Possibly it was a diesel. Diesels can run fully submerged.
[I am not really here. This post is entirely a figment of your imagination.]

Cool. Ya learn something new every day.

Anyway, modifying a car for amphibious capabilities isn't that hard in theory, so I dunno about a museum piece... however, in practical concerns it's a ***** to scrounge up all the parts and get 'em together, and musta taken some impressive motivation to think of and assemble it.
