[WS-Thunder]

   As most of you know I am working on a trilogy and as I work on the first part I naturally begine to see more and more of the sequals and how everything ties in as a writer and hopefully one day a novelist. I have a thought on a new player-flyable capitol ship. I was thinking of a freighter/corvet like-ship. My thought is that it will be able to carry about three fighters that are docked on a rack. It will have two beam cannons (not turrets, cannons), that can only fire straight in front of you like a regular weapon, the ship would also carry anti-cruiser torpedoes and a heavy rail gun. However, it has low armor and shielding and can't carry flack cannons or rear weapons to defend it. However it is faster and more manueverable due to it's engine configuration and it's payload. I was thinking it could be slower and about as manueverable as an Ursa bomber. However, I am unsure as to how to class it and I can't seem to come up with a good designe yet but I will and I have some good ideas about what I want on it.

Well, the tricky part is that it carries fighters rather than freight so it's not exactly a freighter. It also It has speed but it isn't used for scouting so it's not a cruiser or a corvet either, and it also isn't used because of it's guns considering it only has two small guns, 2 anti cruiser torpedoes, and one rail gun. Most cruisers have around 2 to three beam cannons I think.

Hmmm... Do you want all those weapons as front weapons? IIRC you can only have two different primaries, and only a single beam weapon will be mounted on any rack. But, beside this, I like the idea. however, I wouldn't make as fast and maneuvrable as an Ursa, it's bigger, so it has to behave bigger.

GTVA cruisers generally have 4 antifighter beams and 1 or 2 anticap. Shivans have 1 or 3 anticap and 1 AAA.

Hmmm, yah I was thinking of it as havinga ll these as front weapons. The beams would be mounted on the sides of the ship though but they can only fire forward, the torpedoese will have two large missile ports on the nose of the ship, and there will be one rail gun up front. The beams would probably work both at the same time. The rail gun and the torpedo launchers would be the two secondary weapons. The advantage is that it can keep off shivan cruisers but the disadvantage is that it doesn't have as much protection against destroyers or bombers. Probably it would need to be less manueverable than the ursa but not to the point that you can't hardly turn or aim hehe  )

Gunboat is good but seeing as it carries fighters how about Strike Transport.

I'd make the Rail gun Turreted for a bit of alround defence.

Strike transport it is! However the turreted rail gun wouldn't be as fun as firing it off yourself.
