With all the new guys coming in, I think we should make a new forum rules section, that is required to be read BEFORE you can post. Or at least have a link underneath the Hard Light forum.

I was deebating whether to ask for this, but a new guy just came in and asked why there wasn't going to be an FScubed, and that kinda made me decide :D

We do have a FAQ. I suppose most people don;t bother reading it. Most forums I see have a few locked topics at the top of the main page, explaining the important stuff. That would be a bit more obvious than the FAQ...

Put in a link to it on the register screen so that newcomers can see it at least once.

Actually someone should probably revamp the FAQ a little.  It has no mention of the source release (a big part of the current reasoning for no FS3), and it's a bit outdated when it comes to some of the specifics.  The FS3 question actually was allowed under the current FAQ...  (It was written by Setekh, for pete's sake, it's got to be old no matter how you cut it)  The other thing that would be useful would be to have the FAQ displayed whenever someone registers, if that is possible with the VBB scripting.  But I agree, there's not much more annoying than having some new guy come in here asking all of the questions that have been asked a million times.

On the other side of the issue, however, we should not be so quick to criticize the n00b's as they try to get in to the community.  The search feature can be extremely unhelpful when it comes to older topics (I still can't find some of the dialogues I had when I was a newbie, so I could understand how one could miss something like FS3 discussions.  There really haven't been any in a while that have been much more than a flame fest).  I'm seeing a lot of people coming in that seem really enthusiastic about the game and its modding potential, and we don't want to scare them off.  I see so many people asking for modders for their campaigns (FREDers most especially) and it will be the new people who will help fill the void.  However, I think that making a "rules" topic or page or whatever would help this issue as well.

who needs a signature? ;)
It's not much of an excuse for a website, but my stuff can be found here

If there is an updated FAQ, I would like some info on the HLPBB Movie + it's semi-finished sequel to be put into it ;)

I think you're confusing a FAQ with a Pimp List. You do know what the individual letters of "FAQ" mean, yes?

There are no questions that fit the definition of "frequently asked" that have to do with the HLP "Movie". There are very few that even qualify for "asked maybe once". Nobody who's not in it is really interested, and since it doesn't feature me even most who are kinda only care a little. Casting error, that, though I suppose a fortituous one in my case- being made a jedi would be pretty demeaning, and I'd have to resurrect the Goat just for you.

Honestly said I haven't read it, too.

add it to the "are you really 13 or over or are you under 13 and going to lie anyway?" page so they might have a 1/59th chance of reading it.

Just change the name from "FAQ" to "Blowjob Signup List" at the top and they'll read it.
