Hmmmmm.... looks more like a pallette problem than anything else. When you converted the picture, did you use a self-defining pallette or just stick to the System one?
And I really had to look quite close to see the problem FT, I wouldn't be surprised if FS2 runs it's titles in 16Bit mode no matter what and only jumps into 32Bit for the game, just look on the Main Hall Scene at the specular Highlights ;)
Finally, I think you run your card with Anti Aliasing on. Have you tried turning it off when running FS2 to see if that makes a difference?

AA is off and i have test it with AA x2 i have test it too in 16bit and 32bit and it looks in all crappy against the PSP8 image :sigh:

Hmmmm... remember a JPG file cannot hold 256 colour images, but a PCX file CAN hold 32 Bit colours.

I've just loaded the top image in to PS7 and tried converting it to 8 Bit colour, and no matter what I try, I get banding on the Sun effect...
Just a query, can anybody else manage to convert the top JPG to a PCX256 without getting banding?

LOL Well, I'm afraid that's me out of ideas :(

I'll have to take a look at BRIGHT though if it does a better job of converting to 8-bit. (However, considering the results I got in PS7 were more or less identical to the lower picture, I wonder if it isn't telling you optical fibs? Especially seeing as this has happened for a few pics for you now )

in PSP7 on the far right on the convert box thing, select 'error diffusion' - me and FT got this wrong at first (:doubt: :o ) it does an ok job but brights better and harder to use! (compared to PSP8s mulitiupul convert thingy)
