For those who haven't heard, Arnold Schwarzenegger has annouced that he is running for Governor of the State of California.  He will replace the current Governor, Gray(out) Davis, who is being recalled by people of California, because he has destroyed California economically.

His opponent does not have the ability to beat him.

When asked whether he was a Democrat or a Republican he replied, "I am for the People of the State of California.".

He'll win, he's the Terminator for crying out loud.

T3 kicks ass.

My own foibles with the movie are:
Too much T-X emotion.
Humor (especially the funny kind) has no place in Terminator films.
The music wasn't up to much.

So basically, less T-X emotion, more musical emotion and no goddamn cliched jokes.

Other than that it was ****ing awesome, as a stand-alone and as a sequel.

He was thinking about it, however he hadn't finalized it until now.

I like this- Enron didn't **** over California, Gray Davis did! You know, because Enron's just a bunch of bloated evil plutocrats who openly raped the state like a four-year-old at a Maryland truckstop and left its bleeding mangled corpse at the side of the road after the energy "crisis" (which was bull****, out here constant blackouts punctuated by the occasional brownout are known as "winter", and also most of the other "months of the year"), Davis is a Democrat!! That's like a Hitler, but worse!

Anyway, my money's on Larry Flynt. The king of Hustler can do nothing but good things for any state he runs.

So uh, run that by me again. What's wrong with Arnold again? Just because he's famous and appears to genuinely love America (or California, whatever.) He's a bad candidate?

I have maintained for some time that "anyone off the street" is better than the current crop of politicians. Arnold fits the bill, and then some.

Basically, even though he is running as a Republican, I believe that he is more educated and more moral that the normal politicians, so I'm cheering for him to win. Being foreign, he doesn't take his power and riches for granted, he had to earn it, unlike most American politicians who were handed everyrthing they have by their daddies, and who don't even try to conceal their gross ignorance and/or greed.

I heard a short speech by him today on the TV. Its funny, everything he says it sounds like its comming from an action movie. Even when its serious, he sounds like he's ready to kick some ass and jump out of an exploding building:D :D

I wonder if we'll see him do that 'shut the **** up' pose during debates... you know on the off chance that I ever meet Arnie, I'm going to tell him to run for President

On a side note, why won't my hash of Running Man download even a single kilobyte. WHY???

He can't run for president. You have to be born in the US to be eligible.

Funnily enough, I agree with you on everything you said - except the first and last lines. :)

IMHO, T3 was a good movie, but I guess my expectations were up too high by T2. I was sorely disappointed by the music score, and even when the "da-dum, dum, da-dum" did finally crop up (during the ending credits?!?!?!??), it was.... different. Too short.

Also, I'd add the overly-repeated theme of "T-X almost gets them, T-101 arrives at last second and delays her, allowing them to escape" to my lisk of yucks.

Anyway, back to Arnie as governor... does anyone else find it at least mildly hillarious that Arnie has bodyguards? I mean, they're half his size!

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

Because the book is precisely one hundred million times better and you should be reading that rather than trying to obtain the awful, awful film version.

As for Arnie being a governor, start to worry when he wants to implement a computerised defense system.

well... he isn't the first actor in predator to run for governor. He's just trying to copy Jesse Ventura.
