just saw the most disturbing thing in my life
Here i am about 2 hours ago driving in a van with 4 friends, driving down a semi-busy road, two lanes on each side, when this guy on a bright yellow Suzuki or some other street bike (you know the kind i mean) he's going at least 60 or 70 mph, and he pops a wheelie.  now he's completely vertical, for a second, and then he loses control and falls back.  his back's dragging on the ground at 70 mph, and he's got a 500 pound bike pushing him into the ground.  then the bike flies away and he's rolling around (still going very fast), flying into the air, falling again, etc.

now as i look back, his bike is on the side of the road, he's still rolling, and pieces of skin start flying off him.  big pieces, whole chunks are flying out.  he wasn't wearing a helmet, he had on tennis shoes, shorts, and a T-shirt, and now he's rolling and getting flipped around at 70 mph.  anyway, eventually he comes to a stop, he tries to get up, then just falls down.  (i couldn't see his body, i just saw a bright red, i assume it was blood... since most of his skin is all over the road).

very freaky.  we went to starbucks down the street, and about half an hour later an ambulance arrives.  it wasn't scary seeing him fly off the bike, what was disturbing is seeing chunks of skin (or parts of his body) go flying.  there's a red stripe about 1 and a half feet wide, and about 30 feet long down the road where he was scraping down on his back with a motorbike on top of him at 70 mph.

so the moral of the story is i'm never, ever getting a motorbike.  ever.

don't know if he's alive or not, we didn't stop to see, but i highly doubt he'll live, and if he does, he's probably lost a good 70% of the skin on his body, plus lots of other things flying off him.

yeah, that's what you get for trying to do a 90 degree wheelie on a bike that weighs close to 500 pounds.  how do you end up?  scraping along for 50 feet with a 500 pound bike on you on your back, at 70 miles an hour

that guy now knows the true meaning of pain.

heh, dumbass. It's for his own stupidity anyways. That'd be why you wear proper clothing (at least a jacket) riding any kind of motorcycle. More to the point, don't do excessivley stupid things while not clothed properly.

And he's probably still alive, as long as his spinal cord didn't get too messed up. Makes me wonder though why you err.. nobody got an ambulance their sooner...

Thats sucks. Hope he lives, but learns his lesson...a helmet and biker jacket certainly would have helped...

And why the hell didn't you stop to help him? So there your are, witnessing a terrible accident, so you decide that to get your mind off things you go to Starbucks. Perhaps, in your infiite compassion, you think about getting the guy a cofee to bring to him as he's lying on the road, but then you decide that it'll cost you 5 bucks, and you really want that second Grande Latte. :hopping: :hopping:

:wtf: wait... if a member of a fire department had driven by and not helped, he would be fired and sued... if someone with a cell phone drives by, they call their friend and tell them all about it and keep going... :blah:

Bobbau, Delta, Unknown Target, and Rictor:

Of course i called for help!  **** man, i'm not THAT bad you know.  less than half a minute after we'd witnessed this, i was already on the phone with an operator at 911.  i assume many others also called 911 at the same time.

if i was behind him, or in front of him, i'd have stopped to help him, but we were going in the other lane, the opposite direction from him, and at least 2 or 3 cars quickly pulled over to help (cars that were behind him), so if we'd done a U-turn and stopped to help, by this time (we were going about 60) we'd have been half a mile behind him in the stopped traffic.  don't worry, people do stop to help, just not people that aren't close by... and if they do, it's called "rubber-necking"

EDIT:  I found out a few minutes ago that he is alive, and he's probably going to survive, he's conscious in the intensive care unit.

lol, my thoughts exactly; it's difficult to sympathize with a guy who brings such things on himself entirely through his own stupidity. :p If he had been wearing a some sort of jacket and/or a helmet it wouldn't have been quite so bad.

Stealth: It ok man. I didn't know you were goiing in the opposite directionand that you called 911. If other cars stopped to help him, thats fine then.

Good to hear that he survived. Most of you have probably done at least a few things during your lives that could have ended this way, but you were lucky. He's not stupider than the rest of us, he's just less lucky.
