Hell, yes! I'd definitely use something like this. That'd be bloody amazing!
Would any of them be anything like that big industro-derelict thing you posted a few weeks back? That was really cool. The FS universe needs some civvy/industrial shipping and installations - not every single ship can be a military/ex-military design.
What would be cool is to have some really massive mining/haulage ships, that could be of destroyer size or greater (perhaps even something like the Red Dwarf
), but not be uber-powerful. I thought about this especially when playing Derelict - it would be very cool to have a vessel like this for the Auriga. Then for campaigns it could be used as a secret weapon (Q-ship style), or just be a backdrop to a mission.
Anyway, I've rambled enough. You have the skills and imagination to pull this off, and are probably more qualified/entitled to do so than anyone else in the community, so go for it!
