Here's an interesting topic I don't believe has been covered before...

We know that the GVB Sekhmet was originally a Shivan design, adapted by the Hammer of Light. Unmistakably it's a derivative of the SB Nahema. But, the Nahema never appeared in The Great War or Silent Threat, and according to Operation Templar the HoL was crushed during Reconstruction.

So, how did the HoL acquire the Nahema design? Was it, in fact, used against the Vasudans in the HoL controlled systems beyond Alpha Centauri, but never encountered by the Terrans? Did they capture and reverse-engineer one, or get the schematics by some other means? And why was the Nahema considered either a new design or the first appearance of an older design?

Designed by a member/cell of HoL that was still kicking around somewhere until recently? It says that many members went into hiding, so it's possible that they designed it, but could never produce them to use.

Dunno, just my thoughts. It's a cool ship, anyway.

mmmmm, well, perhaps the shivans send them the design?

cause otherwise, there is no really sensible explanation for it.

Perhaps some of the HoL were on a planet controled by the Shivans. Since the shivans only razed one planet, Vasuda, perhaps they were left alone, deep in Shivan space, twords some of the points that the Shivans first entered the known galaxy. If they had enough supplies, the HoL could survive long enough to use a telescope to lok at the armada, and perhaps they saw the Nahema, and kept the designs and drawings secret untill the Shivans ha been routd from the system. Since it was a backwater system, perhaps the Nahema was to ensure that the GTA or PVE culd enter the Shivans universe, and thus were kept from the front lines.

yeah... sure:p

well... i personally don't know, perhaps some HOL loyalists infiltrated the higher echelons of the GTVA, and are hiding there, supplying the odd bit of intel here and there...

Perhaps there was a precessor to the Nahema in the great war. Only it wasn't in your tech room because your fleet never encounterred them. But the Hammer did, managed to disable one and bring it to their Secret Base™.

Or V slipped again... *goes to drag IceFire in here*

Edit: But that makes no sense... why would the Hammer be capturing Shivan technology when it was their belief that the shivans were supposed to destroy them all... :confuzzled:

Sounds like an interesting idea for a 2-3 mission mini-camp.

I think that the Sekhmet was based on the outer hull design and data aquired from combat rather than an actual craft.  Remember that the HoL worshiped the shivans and would try to emulate them as much as possible.

Actually when I first saw it, I though the Sekhmet was just a re-skin of the Nahema.

BTW Alikchi, are you back???

He's undead. He got hit by a bus, remember? :p

As for the Nahema and the Sekhmet, I say the Sek was just based off of Shivan Design, ot a specific design.
