We post stuff sometimes daily here.

I don't usually post pics of early wip stuff but:

V FS1 Lucifer concept pic, I turned it into a freighter.

This is an early test version.

2375 polys lod0 no turrets.
Test version there is 2.2km

Don't know if the size will change but it'll be a large freighter designed to resupply the larger Shivan ships.

Haven't decided on the turret amount yet.

So to avoid problems with only being able to dock to one object at one time, the models with 3 and 5 modules mated together are all merged together prior to being made a .pof as single larger models.  I guess in those instances, you'd make each module (though still connected to each other) a separate subsystem that disappears when distroyed.  It could present a problem if the player destroys the module subsystem closest to the drive section, then the others would appear to be hanging in space, but following behind the drive secion without a tether. You could however, have a spine that runs through the center of them all and is only destroyed when the entire model is destroyed, then if one module subsystem is destroyed and others behind it are not, they would still appear to be attatched to the drive section.

Wait a sec, isn't there a SCP fix in the works which allows for multiple docking?

Cetainly looks cool!!!!

I dont really know about the cargo. Trivial Psycic's idea would be best, unless the Inferno crew can somehow get Inferno to except the SCP multiple cargo thing.

For some reason, i found it really silly that Memphisto's and Asomdeus's were designed to carry four cargo containers, but the Shivans only ever bothered to give one container to each freighter. THEY NEED A NEW LOGISTICS CORDINATOR!!!!!!

The freighter idea is good. It would make a funny scene on a mission, where one pilot asks how the Shivans could possibly bring enough supplies into GTVA space so quickly, then the big Luci freighter comes in and another pilot replies "That answer your question"

  • I'm a magic man, I've got magic hands.
I think he just made a model that is 1 module, a model that is 3, and a module that is 5...

You dock which ever one for what amount of modules you want, and if you want more than 5, you can go **** yourself. :D :p

I gathered that, but in the multiple module models, having each container acting as a separate subsystem that can be destroyed and visually removed from the model, would add some realism.  I know it can be done because if you destroy the subsystems of a Knossos device, they disapear, even though the device still appears on radar.

Yeah it's done like that as adding some kind of part which connects them all would push the poly limit on the larger ones.

The 5x container is 1605 polys seperated into 3 parts.

Yeah I thought having multiple sizes would be a good thing, and with the 5x container, the freighter is 1.25km in length.

I love the new freighter. I just hope you re-use the Lucifer you have built.

Reason? Well, it is too cool to let out. That and lucifer X, the AA cruiser.

Seems to me that the shivans got more and merrier :)
If you want to be ready for Wing Commander Saga: The Darkest Dawn, then download and play the prologue first.

Here,

http://www.wcsaga.com/downloads/files/download/releases-prologue-setup-exe.html

Then, while waiting for the Darkest dawn, Download Starshatter 4.02

You 'll understand why once you have.

I love the idea of a new Shivan frieghter. The first one was cool, the but second one is simply awesome! I think the spine idea for cargo connection is good too (like the Bab5 cargoship you can destroy like 4-8 cargo boxes seperately and leave the ship intact)...

Keep up the cool concepts guys!
Don't think of it as being outnumbered. Think of it as having a wide target selection !

The final two missions are in beta phase

Only 3 mission designers working on the remaining 5 scripts.

More scripts need to be done and I have to get back to the cutscenes and stuff.
