Question: Why do gunships exist (besides to annoy you when there's only one carrier left floating around somewhere building gunships)?  Interceptors eat them for lunch and gunships barely scratch carriers.

Liberator: I had the same bug. But I also at the time had an older version of my graphic drivers. Homeworld displayed a message saying "Upgrade your drivers" or something like that when entering the game. So I did, and the problem seem to have gone away.

I've said it once, and I'll say it again:

I don't trust them when the previous version, the one I'm using (43.00 IIRC), is 16+ mb and the new version is 8 mb.  They've taken something out and I want to know what it is.

Well, I think its mostly useless stuff you don't need. Like the ATI Control Panel and some media player thing. AFAIK, display drivers should be under 8 megs, so you're getting what you need.
