Sorry for the trouble - you were registered, but as "pending". That happened to people who were added to projects early in the beta test or just as the site went online.

What's the point of registering and logging into the main site?

Posting content and rating items, mostly. If you're a project leader or moderator, then you can also approve, edit and remove content.

Indeed. It also helps if you're logged on when you comment or complain about stuff, like "why can't I access this stuff?" received from 'Guest'... that doesn't really help, if you know what I mean.

Can the quickreply feature be moved under the page hyperlinks? It's very annoying to have to scroll down that extra 200 pixels.

How about a email system so if the user is registered and he/she submit's something they get an email when it is approved!
