If any of you have ever played Elite Force, the Star Trek First person shooter you may remember the ship toward the end of the game that fired the big beam that slapped that ship (forgot what it was) silly.

Im working on a variant of that right now more or less a mobile weapons platform that deals out a single massive shot every so often.  My variation will have defenses as well but no other offensive weaponry (AAA fire out the ass, only cap ships will be able to attack)

Heres a general idea of what im talking about these are some screens from the video showing a shot being fired. What im curious about is how difficult would it be to customize a beam to a wider dimension and re-texture it? I have never attempted to add a completley new model to FS2 so im curious.

In case anyone gets the wrong idea NO that is not my ship.. i wish hahaha

yea dreadnaught i think is what it was called (damn lack of originality) anyways. I did a few concept sketches last night of how I want mine to look and its pretty sweet I took some design ideas from GTVA ships crossed them with the Dreadnaught and have a good design forming. Can't wait to get it started on my comp.
