Here's something I've been working on lately. It's a comms satalite for SoR. For a change here's my untextured version.

I think it's still missing something but I can't decide what yet.

Stick more antennas(sp?) and stuff (perhaps "retro"-style solar paneles) on there. If Bobs dx8 stuff works, then polycount isn't quite the issue it used to be.

It did actually start out as a station. I later abandoned it for about a year. When I needed a com sat I scavenged the bits to make this

I suppose I could make a version as a station

I have little use for it though at the moment.

A dish. It's missing a dish. Give it one and you'll be in business. Since it's a sat of some kind, the dish would probably be underneath; take the bulb out from under the panels and rework the antenna thing on the bottom to be much smaller. That would help the satelite image vastly.

Perhaps a Hangerbay, and maybe make the bottom platform above the ball look more like a place to dock to capital ships? And if you really wanted to, you could add maybe a tower or sommat to the top in the middle of those anntennaes and stuff, then put the anntennaes and some radar dishes on that.

As a Communications satallite I was aiming for reasonably small. 20-30m or so in size. As a station I'm not sure yet.

You may want to add a variety of antennas to the satallite. Like a dish type on the bottom and a TV like antenna on the top or side.

Add a directional Parabolic Dish and a very long general broadcast antenna(think of your favorite 50,000 watt torch).

Also, as an afterthought, in my area there are several old-style microwave booster antennas. I think they're used for military traffic. Something like that would look nifty.

I dunno...as a comsat it's great, but as a station...needs to be flatter, or have more bits sticking out (like the Arcadia's "wing")

Bumped!

Here are the latest improvements. It's by no means finished as there are sections that need detail. MindGames want the station for the campaign but I'll probably make this a public release or have it appear in the demo (and be public from then on) depending on how long it takes us to finish that off (Yes KT that means you get to play with it as soon as it's finished!)

I've added arms to act as fighter launching bays. There are currently 5 of them but I'll probably cut that number down to 3 and use the other two for docking capships. Anyway here are the pics.

I'll start on the dishes in a bit

Currently ~2400.

The satalite version has ~1400 cause it doesn't have the launch tubes.

As you may have guessed that means HT&L only
