A problem occurred initializing Direct3D. Hardware acceleration maybe disabled, please run DXDIAG.

and yet the acceleration is enabled and the game DOES work in windowed mode

specs:

XP1600+
GF2MX400

Any help would be nice!

I have EXACTLY the same problem with EVERY game using anything higher than the 53.45 detonators. Try re-installing DX9 and try Re-Installing the detonator drivers.
What frequency are you getting? Is it noise or sweet sweet music? - Refused - Liberation Frequency.

Odd. I still want to know why I lose all 3D accelleration with the last few sets of Detonators though.

do you both have 100% T&L compatable video cards? If not, it won't run at all...

I can get Halo to run fine, my point was that the later sets of Nvidia drivers break my GF4 Ti4200's 3d acceleration.
