Level of Detail problem
I have a little, but annoying problem with LODing.

1. TrueSpace 3.2. I make the LOD1 geography and save it as detail2 into the detail1(whole ship). I make the second and the last LOD with the same sequence.
2. PCS, hesitate COB file reload, data import, save .. so the normal things.
3. In-game, the other LODs appears, but they are not at the same position as the LOD0. They are not aligned at the same posiion where the very first LOD was.

Anybody knows what the problem's solution is?

Check the centering of the LODs. Select the root of each LOD and click the 'move axes to center' button. This is the usual cause for stuff being off-center

Your axis for the LODs is not in the same place for all the LODS. Use the Axis buttons to solve this problem and the ship should work fine.

Aren't there several differences between the the way PCS deals with .scns and .cobs?

Sorry for the bump. But I dare say somehow it doesn't work for me. I set all axes individually for all LODs, they are at the same position, but the same problem still exists. :(

Maybe anything you have forgotten to mention?

TS object grouping is complex.
An object(A) has an axis.
When you grouped (A) and local light(L), then group (AL) will be made.
At this time, group (AL) also has own axis.

If you checked only axis position of (A), see axis position of (AL).
PCS always uses axis position of group.

Put the light at the axis position of the object.  IIRC that should avoid any problems.  I *think* Ts initially sets the group axis as the midpoint of the object and light.

Ts ought to put the axes in the middle of your object's bounding box. So as long as you put a light physically thitin the object you should be OK. Putting it at the center is your best bet, as Aldo said.

TA, if you want to send me the model to see if I can fix0r it, contact details are me profile

The method I make LODs denies all you have told.
I copy/paste the same model, name it as group 1, and I begin erasing vertices. So I neither move the axis, nor the object.
