Has anyone ever seen this page before?
http://www.brainzipper.com/fs2/notes/fs2_discrepancy.htmlI stumbled upon this page several weeks ago--what exactly I was looking for at the time, I can't remember--and it reveals a number of interesting tidbits about FS2 missions that I'd wager most people aren't aware of. Apparently, the author of the site peeks at the FRED coding of the retail missions and lists several discrepancies between the coding and what actually
happens in each mission. Among points of note:
1. The SJ Sathanas appears to have been originally named the SJ Apocalypse, or some variant thereof.
2. Moloch corvettes may have been intended to be introduced as early as the fourth mission in the FS2 campaign, "A Lion at the Door".
3. The Colossus may have originally been written to confront the Iceni itself, and not the NTD Repulse.
4. Several ship names were changed, apparently because they were difficult to pronounce.
5. A possible debriefing for "Argonautica" mentions the appearance of a Shivan juggernaut in the mission, although to my knowledge, that never happens.
6. An interesting note for "Clash of the Titans II" indicates that the Colossus might have originally been the ship intended to collapse the jump node, not the Bastion.
7. The various "hidden" items that can be scanned upon transports in the final mission--"Apocalypse"--are listed.
I imagine some people have seen this stuff already, but I'm just throwing it out there for informational purposes.
