Rght...

read the readme.

followed and copied the files.

read the "what to do with a problem" stuff.

Tried bugzilla.

no help.

What does this mean after I try to run Fs open3.5 and it comes up with this.

Error: error reading registry, registry string 'VideocardFs2open' not present,
this is why you are crashing,
be sure to use the NEW launcher to set up you're registry,
make sure you run it without internet explorer or windows explorer running

as a okay comnp user but not exactly high on programming terms what exactly am I supposed to do guys. I need help as i`d really like to see your work on improving the engine.

Flame me if you like but I`d prefer help as I did check the FAq`s, searched the forum ect and couldn`t find anything.

Well, it seems to be saying that you have the wrong version of the Launcher, but I'll leave it to the code Gurus to help you out, cos I'd just be working on guesswork

there's one in my zip package in my sig. i wouldn't advise getting it now since im about to upload a new version

is it just me or should we make the freaking game automatically generate VideoCardFS2Open based upon the origional V settings

I like the launcher, but having Winrar on my PC is a pain.

That is a good idea, but we really need people to run the launcher for other settings as well. Its not that complicated. Now that the code has settled down you should only have to do it once for all builds (intil something else changes).

Why is having winrar a pain?
Its better than winzip.

Got it working!

had to download winrar trial (ycuk sorry for ease of use I liked winzip)...

Amazing shiny metal ships now, very nice.

Few things.... do you intend to activate the cutscenes in FSopen?

On the mission testing the stealth fighters, they swooped in and bombarded the fenris with so many missiles that it blew up even before I had alpha 2 say "here they come" and the game almost crashed as it tired to do the second section of the game while dealing with the first sections consequences.

Shivans can just plaster you with missiles now, who made em smarter it`s good except that they can now plaster you with unlimited missiles (and boy if you`re trying to evade one do they!. I like the smarter AI but it needs balancing with limited missiles.

I heard rumours of making the crusier windows glow in the next release and someone wanted the beams to leave a temporary glowing red scorch line where they smash into the hull. any news on this?

Keep it up guys it`s making FS engine blow a large number of up to date games out of the water in terms of pretty graphics.

Cutscenes, we can't play mve's directly but there is a converter out there, do a search on these boards. Then you can play it with my movie code, however there are still a few glitches with that.

The original volition movie code will NOT be making an appearance in FSO, this might be another good one for the FAQ

FSO does, however, have the ability to play AVI files now, if you turn them from the command line
