New nebula background images

I made six 'red' nebula images with Photoshop 7.0. I hope you like it. Any critics are acceptable.

The flames!  They burn! :shaking:

They don't look so bad except that they are like 5 times as bright as they need to be.  Tone them down a bit.
who needs a signature? ;)
It's not much of an excuse for a website, but my stuff can be found here

Really, it is really too bright. It really looks like being a fire.

Neat.  does need toned down quite a bit though - possibly make it a bit darker so as to appear a bit less opaque?

It looks really fake. Tone it down a lot.

As said above you need to tone them down. But they look pretty cool in a weird kinda way but not as cool as my mighty fire nebula

Yeah but the real fire nebula actually looks like fire.  Yours looks more like red-tinted multicolored blobs, so I don't think that brightness is a factor there.  The screenshot says it all; Pez's background looks like it would produce a bright orange light on the sides of ships facing them, where as yours just look like they are just there.  But an arcadia in front of them and see for yourself.  Yours will look much better toned WAY down.

No, I abandoned playing mods after Derelict. I couldn't image how the other campaigns are if you are calling that bugtower as 'the best'
