Heh, i jsut thought it was funny. Considering thats how a few people react in the Fl community i just thought it was ironic.  And to answer the question about model format, FL uses a proprietary (as far as i know) geometry called CMP. there is a Milkshape exporter, and an imperfect importer. Although i use Lightwave to do the modelling ( and to make the movie that someone named Carl The Shivan finds offensive)I Still ahve to run the model thru MS3D to ge tthe format. That being any format can be used, since MS3D is the swiss army knife of 3d programs.

Seriously though, I know FL is not FS and WC is not FL, but that's all the reason why we SHOULD work together, it increases awareness and can only do good for the future of this type of game.

Hehehehe no one ever actaully talks about the Mouse control, seems an unofficial taboo subject. I would love to get as much real Freesapce content into the game (ANd consequently our mod TNG) as possible, but i am planning on releasy my FS versions as standalones so that if people as they can use them in their own FL mods. The problem i run into is the Shivan organic-esque style. I would love to do the two big Shivan warships but hell jsut looking at them makes me wet me proverbial tighty whities.  But to be fair i do ahve to do the Vasudan and the Terran ships. The trouble is deciding which ones. I googled a long time ago before i started the manticore and there is no Compendium of Freespace Craft. Although i may try upgrading the Terran Stealth.

Was their anyone with the programs, skillz, and desire to rip the ships from FL to use them IN Freespace2? Basicly a FS2 (Starlancer/Freelancer Fleet) Mod... a new fleet(or fleets) of ships from another star system/dimension...

Like I am doing with robotech and the Star Fleet command anime mod team (they came through after all and sent 6 or 7 REF ships)...  I have a few friendly contacts in the Armada and SFC community but I made them on my own, oh yeah a like 2 people from the Gundam community...

Actually, there is a guy who directly ripped adn imported most of the FS2 fighters. I gave him a bloody lashing in the download comments on Lancersreactor cuz it seemed he wanted gratitiude for such little work, I dont wanna go the lazy road. It may tkae me till long after FL is dead but i think remodeling from scratch actually gives me a little inspiration for "improving" the models design. ATM , and i mean like right ATM im working on the Vasudan Stealth fighter. Trying to texture it is gonna be the worst part, but ill worry about that when its time to whip the PS out. Ive also put all my original designs on hold to do these models. Plus if i can actually LEARN to model in teh Shivan style, that would make my future works that much more impressive.
 As far as i know FL can handle more than Milkshape can dish out . The LIberty Dreadnought Class Destroyer's LOD 1 MOdel is 13771 Polies, and MS3d tops out at 8000 ( i think) . To add to my headaches, im also trying to polsih that intro movie that started this whole topic. If i could get that damn ship to bacnk and roll along that path i ahve it tied to it would be a much better intro. Ive only been modelling a few months and animatiing even less time. I think i might jsut fire up FS2, never actually uninstalled it.

Well, even then, you may benefit from hanging around, the SCP forum has been knocking around the idea of upgrading the models for ages, but it's a question of actually doing it
