Can anybody recomend a good, free CD Burning program?

The one I'm using now doesn't work well with IE6 and rolling back to my previous version of IE is not an option.  Alternately someone could point me toward a download location for IE5.5.

For all CD burning i recommend Nero.  and why does it have anything to do with Internet Explorer?  as far as i know  you shouldn't have a problem for regular burning applications with Nero.

IE 5.5: http://isis2.admin.usf.edu/Downloads/downloadie55.htm
And I believe you can still get sp2 from the Microsoft site.

I'm only telling you this because it's marginally less evil than IE6, btw. I recommend alternative browsers, myself, but if whatever you're doing is tied into IE...

As for free CD Burning software, try this page:

Hope that helps you.

Oww, I thought this was going to be about burning software in the same way that Nazis burned books.
I'm disappointed now.

Perhaps we ought to burn WC discs? To keep the balance,  I mean...

CDs don't burn well. On the other hand, I did once come across this site which had videos of some guy sticking them on an ultra-high-speed drill and then chucking other CDs at them, which promptly caused them to disintegrate into millions of tiny death shards.

Impressive.

If you put them in the microwave you get pretty lightning...

Ah-ha! Found a site with a mirror of the video. Check it out, it's really worth it:

LOL Don't, I'm just off downstairs to get the drill and a pack of blank CD's now ;) Loved the door knocker, that'd be a great way to freak people out :D

No, no! Waste of blank CDs! Don't you ever get AOL spam?

Well, this thread is going down the pan, isn't it? I hope we helped Liberator enough...

Anyway, yeah, mohnay. It used to be good when AOL distributed on floppy disks, because you could just overwrite them and use them again. Pity.

Oh, and it needs to be some special drill. Got to have enough speed and torque. The guy used a dremel. No idea how he attached it though.

Thanks for the suggestions, I like IE6 and had not upgraded because it hosed my Burning package.

BTW, I was using NTI CD-Maker 2000 Standard.  It was what came bundled with my drive when I bought it a couple of years ago.

It works pretty good and is easy to use, and I will probably get the new version when I get some cash.  It's just a bug with v.4 that doesn't allow it to work with IE6.

Burning isn't nearly so effective as gettin an industrial electromagnet. Something in the 800W range will do ya nicely- wipes floppies from two rooms away, turns the foil layer in CDs into dust, rips your hard drives outta the computer and smashes them against the coil. How much more efficient can you get?

Forget DOD standards and industrial EM fields.

I still prefer the rotation at high speed option. Gives a new meaning to Shards o' Death...

well, just using them as frisbies works pretty good, and it's fun trying to hit eachother. you have to be in kinda of a crazy mood though.

What's fun is when they shatter in the drive. The fun part is trying to retrieve all the bits.
